A message from Er. Vishal Tank

Physics educator and engineer · Physics Bytes · Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh

I am a physics educator by interest and an engineer by profession. For more than ten years, I have taught Physics and Mathematics to students from Classes 8 to 12, as well as Physics for board examinations, NEET and JEE Main. I have served as a Senior Physics Faculty member at a coaching institute in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, since 2018. Through Physics Bytes, I want to make learning clear and accessible while helping students become curious, thoughtful and confident learners.

My larger goal as an educator is to cultivate a scientific temper in society. I encourage students to question claims, examine evidence and think critically rather than accept superstition, dogma or blind rituals without reflection. I believe every person deserves equal respect, regardless of religion, caste, colour or nationality. We can respect people while still asking questions about ideas and belief systems, and we should be willing to reconsider our views when reason and evidence call for it.

I want students to develop the habit of asking what is known, how it is known and whether a claim is supported by reliable evidence. Scientific understanding grows through observation, logical reasoning and testing, and it remains open to revision when better evidence emerges. The world is always changing, so learning should not stop at familiar answers or inherited assumptions; it should help us understand change and respond to it thoughtfully.

Deep reading and sustained attention can help us understand the world more fully than a constant stream of short-lived online content. I encourage students to make time for books, study and reflection, and to make their own considered decisions rather than be carried by emotional manipulation, social pressure or forceful demands from anyone. A questioning mind is not disrespectful; it is a way to seek understanding with honesty and care.

My own education began at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sarol, followed by an engineering diploma from Government Millennium Polytechnic, Chamba, and a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I also pursued an M.Tech at IIT Roorkee as part of the 2017 batch but dropped out due some personal reasons. My journey from engineering to teaching continues to shape the way I explain physics: with a focus on clear concepts, sound reasoning and connections to everyday life.

I hope that, together, we can build a society that values compassion, equality, education and evidence-based thinking. By choosing reason over superstition and curiosity over fear, we can support one another and help steer our country towards scientific progress. That is the purpose behind Physics Bytes and the message I hope to share with every student.
